Life is essentially sad, yet happiness flickers as sporadic moments, much like the transient beauty of a sunset that graces my canvases. My current practice as an oil painter actively seeks to capture the ephemeral beauty of these fleeting instances. Recognizing the inherent beauty of the world alongside life’s brevity, each stroke on my canvases functions as a personal reflection, a memory meticulously etched in pigment. Moving beyond mere documentation, the artistic intention aims for a deeper resonance, where diverse subjects converge in their shared illumination. The light of the sun, so often depicted in my pieces, acts as a potent symbol of enduring hope and tranquility amidst a changing world fraught with uncertainty. Through these painted moments, I aim to offer viewers not just a visual experience, but a bridge to shared feelings of peace, wonder and an appreciation for the diversity of cultures that enrich our brief time.
