School of Music Production & Sound Design for Visual Media

Deon “Simi Stylezz” Herbin is a Bay Area-based artist, producer, and entrepreneur pursuing his BFA in Music Production at Academy of Art University. Raised in Kentucky with a military background, his sound fuses grit, soul, and cinematic flair. From hip-hop to genre-bending instrumentals, Simi creates music that explores self-discovery, resilience, and transformation.

Founder of Nine Mic Records, he’s building a label focused on diverse voices, artist ownership, and legacy. Since starting school, he’s produced over 350 tracks and collaborated on music, film, and animation projects. As a GRAMMY U member and mentee of GRAMMY-nominated artist Mystic, he continues to grow his industry network and creative reach.

Recent highlights include live shows across California and original scores for animated clips and short films. His upcoming album, Reaper Mode, dives into themes of ambition, isolation, and the power of words.

A natural leader and visionary, Simi blends technical skill with emotional intelligence. He’s passionate about creating workflows, uplifting underrepresented talent, and mastering the business side of music. Whether behind a drum set, a mixing console, or a vision board, his goal is clear: build an empire rooted in authenticity, ownership, and legacy.
