A Gradient of Environments: National Institute of Biomaterial Research and Innovation
This project explores the concept of gradations of environments Inspired by natural systems. It dis¬solves the boundary between the built and natural environ¬ment reimagining the rela¬tionship between architecture and ecology. Rooted in the historical context of the Na¬tional Mall, where clear delin¬eations between landscape, monument, and building have long been upheld, this proj¬ect challenges convention by proposing a hybrid structure. Dedicated primarily to ad¬vancing research in bio-based materials for the built envi¬ronment, it responds to the urgency of the climate crisis, symbolizing a transformative vision for sustainable archi¬tecture and integrated design.
