Within these two rings the story of man and nature continues. They illustrate the relationship between nature and humankind: one of the most vital and ancient forms of collaboration. This relationship has been the seed bed for new growth throughout time. These three core concepts – humankind, nature, growth – are represented in these rings using acrylic, wood, and quartz crystals. Malleable and synthetic, acrylic describes humankind’s determination to create and shape the world – and their reality. Sitting majestically atop the acrylic is a pinnacle of wood emphasizing the vastness and bounty of nature’s existence. Wire inlay and pyrography, hand manipulated techniques, add unique embellishments to the wood, accentuating the artistic partnership between nature and humankind. From this union, quartz crystals sprout up from the wood like seedlings from the soil, symbolizing new growth and beginnings.
