Aquatic Park Revitalization Project: Updating a Cherished Water Park for the 21st Century
Along the north shore of San Francisco, Aquatic Park has been enjoyed by generations of San Franciscans and visitors, since it opened in 1939. A natural cove bookmarked by the Hyde Street Pier on the east and the Municipal Pier on the west, it creates a safe harbor of calm water, suitable for water recreation and mooring historical ships. But time and the elements have taken their toll on the Municipal Pier. It has deteriorated to the point where it is unsafe and no longer structurally sound. The community calls to save Aquatic Park!
