My name is Erika Pazmandine Hagen and I’m a sculptor and sculptural ceramicist in San Francisco, California. I’m originally from Hungary where I became a teacher of humanities. Art and Art history were always interesting to me and it soon became a passion of mine. I moved to Switzerland and later to California with my family. Here I was introduced to clay and ceramics and the craft of pottery. Being a self taught artist for many years and working from my home studio, selling my work online and at festivals and participating in workshops here and there were ways to elevate my skills.

In 2016 I became a high school ceramics teacher for seven years in Vallejo, CA. At the same time I ran a ceramic studio in downtown where classes were offered to the community until 2024. I have decided to become a professional artist to learn large sized sculpting with clay, went back to school and became a master sculptor (2025 May)at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
